Abstract : | We aim to study morphological types and properties of 78 dwarf galaxies in the Coma Cluster using HST/ACS Coma Cluster treasury survey. We use GALFIT to determine the structural properties of our sample. Using visual inspection, we find the morphological distribution as dwarf Elliptical (dE) 69\%, dwarf lenticuler (dSO) 22\%, dwarf spirals (dSp) 4\%, dwarf barred spirals (dSBp) 3\%, dwarf ring (dring) 1\% and dwarf irregular (dIrr) 1\% galaxies. We find that dSO galaxies are well fitted with bulge-disk decomposition. However, the rest of the sample gives good results only for single Sersic fits. Using color magnitude relation (CMR) we find that dEs are fainter and redder than the rest of the sample (except one dIrr galaxy). From the Kormendy relation, we find that dE galaxies have low surface brightness than the other galaxies. Using both relations, they found that the evolution of dwarf galaxies is different from non-dwarf galaxies and dwarf galaxies may have a reverse process of formation and evolution of non-dwarf galaxies. |
