All in-person attendees should also note that IIT-R requires all visitors to be double vaccinated. So please also carry proof of double vaccination when you come.

How to reach IIT Roorkee
The closest airport is Dehradun (70 km) but it has very limited flights. Landing at New Delhi Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, could be a more viable option. The distance from New Delhi airport to IIT Roorkee is about 200 km which can be covered in the following modes. In any case of travel by road or train, AVOID agents.

Taxi (Delhi to Roorkee)
You can hire "Ola cab" outstation from your mobile app. It will cost approx. INR 5000 for a compact sedan or mini. You need to pay the taxes and tolls apart from what the app shows. A taxi can be arranged from Roorkee to pick you from the airport if you book in advance (at least a day before your arrival). The cost would be approx. INR 4000. Bus(Delhi to Roorkee)
There are air-conditioned buses from IGI Airport to the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) at Kashmiri Gate (a location in New Delhi). If you are exiting from Terminal 3, you can find these shuttles at the extreme of your left. If you are exiting from the Terminal 2, you have to walk to your right to find the bus terminal. The ticket costs approx. INR 100 which can be bought inside the bus. These buses stop at the periphery of the ISBT Kashmiri Gate. At the ISBT Kashmiri Gate AVOID any agent or getting into any private bus. The government-run buses start from the inner part of the terminal. Proceed towards Uttarakhand or UP Transport bays and catch a Volvo bus leaving for Dehradun/Haridwar/Rishikesh. The ticket costs approx. INR 700. There are several other types of buses which may not be convenient. These buses will drop you at the Roorkee bus station.

At the Roorkee bus station, catch an e-Rickshaw (a battery-operated cart) to enter the campus
of IIT Roorkee. It should cost around INR 20. Please refer to “Where to report” for the final
destination.

Train
From the IGI airport, you can catch the airport metro to reach the New Delhi Railway station.
Trains between Delhi and Roorkee require advance booking.
