PhDs in Planetary Science / Astronomy / Physics / Geoscience / Chemistry or relevant background may apply. Candidates with planetary science and related background to the project and programming skills are preferred.

The project is focused to study asteroid Ceres origin and formation using NASA Dawn spectroscopic (reflectance) data. Nature of work is the spectral data processing and analysis to investigate the surface mineral compositions. The project is funded by Max Planck Society (MPG) for 3+2 years, and it is in collaboration with Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research (MPS), Germany. Opportunities to work with collaborators from Germany, USA, Canada and visit to their labs shall be provided. The fellowship is as per NISER/DAE rules and regulations.
