Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) is one of the premier universities in the country (ranked 7th as per NIRF 2022 Universities rankings). Manipal Centre for Natural Sciences (MCNS) is a Centre of Excellence under MAHE, dedicated to pursuing research in basic sciences.
For the academic year 2022-2023, MCNS offers an integrated PhD program for students with Bachelor’s degrees (BSc, BTech, BE etc.), highly meritorious and motivated toward fundamental research in Astrophysics and Nuclear & Particle Physics. A student joining this program would complete the courses mandatory for a PhD and the courses essential for an MSc during the first two semesters. In addition, the student will acquire ample research experience by working on a research project during the 3rd and the 4th semesters. Upon completing four semesters, the student can opt to exit with an MSc by Research in Physics or to continue for a PhD. PhD level work begins in the 5th semester.
