Call for ASI 2021 Workshop Proposals

The 39th meeting of the Astronomical Society of India (ASI) is scheduled to be held online in mid-February 2021 tentatively.

As has been the case for the last several ASI meetings, it is proposed to hold a few one-day workshops the day before the ASI meeting starts. The SOC invites proposals for conducting workshops, in the form of a 1-2 page abstract about the theme, the rationale for the workshop and the expected number of participants. The current expectation is that the Virtual Organising Committee (VOC) will be able to host up to four workshops. The organizers should note that:

1. All workshop participants have to register through the portal for the main ASI meeting.

2. All of the expenses related to the workshops will need to be borne by the workshop organizers.

3. In the present scenario, we request the workshop proposers to seriously consider the possibility of hosting the online workshop and mention their ability to do so in the proposal. In case more than four workshop proposals are received, this will help us assess the feasibility of hosting them.

Proposals should be sent to asi2021soc@gmail.com and should reach by 18 October 2020.
