The Center of Excellence in Space Sciences India (CESSI) is a multi-institutional Center of Excellence hosted by the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Kolkata. CESSI explores the Sun's activity, generates the understanding necessary for space weather forecasting, hunts for gravitational waves, supports national space science initiatives, and participates in international capacity building activities. Students admitted to CESSI have the opportunity to work in collaboration with our faculty drawn from various astronomy institutions and space science organizations in India. PhD in Space Sciences

We seek candidates with strong motivation to pursue research in astrophysics, astronomy and space sciences. Candidates should have MS/MSc/MTech degrees in Physical Sciences, or allied Engineering disciplines that are deemed suitable by the selection committee for PhD research at CESSI. MS by Research in Space Science

We seek applications from students with an undergraduate degree in Physics or Engineering or allied disciplines who are highly motivated to pursue a career in space science and technology research. Engineering graduates wishing to contribute to computational modeling, data analytics and instrumentation in astronomy, astrophysics or space sciences are particularly encouraged to apply. International students may apply through the Study in India program of the Government of India.
