The Astronomers in Residence program is an initiative by the ASI's Public Outreach and Education Committee (ASI-POEC, https://astron-soc.in/outreach/). The program is meant to enable the hosting of astronomers, astrophysicists or astronomy outreach experts to such educational organizations (schools, colleges and universities) where students rarely get a chance to interact with astronomers. Through this program, the visiting astronomers will conduct lectures and (or) hands-on sessions on various topics in Astronomy and Space Sciences in an easy to understand manner for the students spread over a few days. The program is meant to nurture the curiosity of young minds, give a glimpse of what professional astronomers do and reveal the wonders of celestial bodies in the Universe through activities beyond popular lectures. The long term goal of this program is to develop the next generation of astronomers.
This webform is meant to select educational organizations and gauze their willingness to host visiting astronomers under this program. Few organizations from amongst those who apply will be selected for hosting the inaugural version of this program.
