The Variable Sun: Past, Present, and Future Perspectives

This international workshop will focus on current understanding and recent insights related to the origin and variability of solar magnetism, atmospheric dynamics, energetic phenomena, and their space weather consequences. A special session will be dedicated to future space and ground based solar instrumentation and ambitious mission concepts that can leverage India's space capabilities in collaboration with international partners.

The venue city, Thiruvananthapuram, is located on the southwest coast of India in the state of Kerala. The region offers unparalleled opportunities to explore the nearby beaches, backwaters, hills and forests of south India.

This curated workshop will provide a platform for the international and Indian research community to share recent advances in our understanding of solar magnetism and its variability across diverse spatial, temporal, and energy domains, and chart a course for future initiatives. With this announcement we are soliciting abstract submission and registration from the extended community of solar and heliospheric physicists. PhD students, Postdoctoral Fellows and early career scientists are particularly encouraged to apply. Local accommodation and hospitality may be made available based on request to those who do not have institutional support.
