The Astronomical Society of India (ASI) invites proposals for the organisation of ASI symposium - through the fourth call - to be held between the period 15th July 2026 to 31st December 2026.

The proposals are invited from ASI Life Member(s) through this form. Proposers are requested to follow all the guidelines while preparing their proposals.

The last date for receiving proposals for the ASI Symposium is 15 April 2026.

The Astronomical Society of India introduced the ASI Symposium Series in 2024. The Symposia are selected by the EC through a call for proposals from the ASI. The objectives of the ASI Symposia are to discuss advancements and current key questions in a well-defined topical theme through reviews, talks (invited and contributory), posters and discussion sessions.

The Symposia are distinct from the One day ASI workshops held on the day prior to the start of the annual meetings. The ASI will provide financial assistance of upto a maximum of Rs. 1 Lakh towards the organisation of each Symposium, and the host institution(s) is/are expected to organise the rest. The number of Symposia supported each year will be contingent to funds available with the ASI. The guidelines of the ASI Symposia can be found here.

Proposals should be submitted through the form by the end of the day on 15 April 2026. An email may please be sent to secretary@astron-soc.in after the submission.
